Oxford Brookes University Islamic Society has been established to:
- Educate Muslims and Non -Muslims about all aspects of Islam regardless of their beliefs, sect, origin, culture and nationality.
- Overcome the misconceptions of Islam and restore its elevated status as a universal religion for all times and people.
- Spread the message of Islam through positive collaboration with students and staff at Oxford Brookes University, Muslim and Non Muslim groups and organisations as well as the local and wider community.
- Overcome and understand differences in sects and beliefs in order to revive the spirit of Islamic Brotherhood on campus and in Oxford.
- Help Muslim students to enjoy their University experience in a halaal manner whilst strengthening their Islamic personalities.
The Islamic Society at Oxford Brookes University has not been established long and is still in its early growth stages. Despite this we are grateful to Allah (swt) for He has given the Society much success in its events and activities and the benefit of many enthusiastic members.
However, the ISOC is limited in its human resources and this makes it harder to pass the message of Islam onto Muslim and Non Muslim students. It is also becoming increasingly difficult to achieve maximum efficiency in the co-ordination and management of activities and events with less manpower.
